There are so many people who want to use statistics and individual stories to help us understand the housing market today. I have a problem with that because that information is coming from people who do not work in the industry and don’t have a stake in the market.

Today we brought in two experts in the field of Real Estate specializing in the Puget Sound area to talk about what is actually happening on your street. On our roundtable today we welcome Dennis Pearce and Jesse Moore of Pickett Street Properties.

The discussion centers around what kinds of purchases people can expect to make today. Jesse and Dennis help us to understand the different ways that people are buying homes and a different strategy for sellers in this market.

The part of the interview I found most interesting is their perspective on the type of market we will see over the next year or two. This is a unique perspective and I believe they are right.

Pickett Street Properties www.PickettStreet.com is the brainchild of Dennis and Jesse. They started it to redefine the Real Estate Business with a new view of how business should be done. It is ideas like these that we have seen revolutionize other industries and with the turmoil in the housing market of late, I think they are on to something. We only got to meet two of the four members of Pickett Street Properties on today’s show. The other two members are Lisa Bender and Andy O’Shea. Look for them on future shows.

I hope you will give this roundtable a listen. Here is the contact information for the partners at Pickett Street Properties.

On a recent trip to Arizona, I stumbled onto a book in a spa of all places. It had a picture of Benjamin Franklin on it and since I had just completed a book about him, I thought I would check this one out. In the couple of days we spent sitting by the pool, my wife and I both read, The Ten Laws of Wealth and Prosperity by Ron Willingham. We both loved the book, the message and the writing style. I was so impressed that I called Ron and arranged to have him on the show.

In this rapid changing society we live in, we are all trying to figure out what to do next and how to keep up. This feeling is compounded by small businesses. Small business owners have to think ahead of the curve. We are also responsible for the income of our employees. With the additional burden of government regulations, smaller profit margins and lack of a clear direction in the economy. How are small business owners doing it?

We have two people with us today who haved owned small businesses for many years. They are successful men who open up and explain to us the challenges they face, what they look for in new employees and what government could be doing to help out.

Our participants this week are:

Mike Palmer Owner of Business Leasing Northwest in Seattle. Mike can be reached at (206) 525-3475 ext 3307 or at www.BLNW.com
